ASCENRA Technologies is are looking for a DevSecOps Engineer to take ownership of our cloud infrastructure, deployment pipelines, security, observability, and overall production environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure across production and non-production environments. 
• Design and manage AWS services including ECS Fargate, VPC, RDS/Aurora, MSK, KMS and IAM. 
• Build and maintain infrastructure using Terraform with proper environment parity. 
• Own GitLab CI/CD pipelines, including automated security checks and deployment workflows. 
• Implement and manage SAST, DAST, dependency and secret scanning within CI/CD pipelines. 
• Set up and maintain monitoring, logging and observability using CloudWatch, X-Ray and log aggregation tools. 
• Manage cloud security using WAF, Shield, Secrets Manager, GuardDuty and AWS Config. 
• Implement secure communication between services using mTLS and certificate management. 
• Manage backups, disaster recovery, restore processes and infrastructure continuity. 
• Ensure cloud infrastructure follows security, compliance and data-residency requirements. 
• Troubleshoot production infrastructure and participate in incident management and on-call activities. 
• Maintain documentation, post-incident reports and infrastructure-related technical processes. 
• Work closely with the engineering team to improve infrastructure reliability, security and scalability. 

Technical Requirements

Mandatory:

• 6+ years of experience managing production cloud infrastructure, or equivalent practical experience. 
• 4+ years of hands-on experience with Terraform. 
• 4+ years of experience with AWS, particularly compute, networking and databases. 
• Strong experience with ECS or equivalent container orchestration, VPC, RDS/Aurora and IAM. 
• 3+ years of experience owning CI/CD pipelines. 
• Hands-on experience with SAST, DAST, dependency and secret scanning. 
• Working knowledge of AWS KMS, encryption, certificate lifecycle and mTLS. 
• Proficiency in Python or Bash scripting. 
• Experience handling production incidents and on-call responsibilities. 

Preferred

• Experience with AWS data residency/sovereignty requirements. 
• Hands-on experience with Kafka or AWS MSK. 
• Exposure to SOC 2 or ISO 27001 compliance and infrastructure evidence gathering. 
• AWS Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer or Security Speciality certification. 
• Experience with Private CA, WAF/Shield, GuardDuty and AWS Config.
